Art & Artifacts, the newest Blowing Rock Art Gallery, is scheduled to officially open in May of 2009.  It is located at 159 Sunset Drive in downtown Blowing Rock, North Carolina, next to Mellow Mushroom.  Art from distinquished regional Artists will be featured in the Gallery.

Lynn Hill, is a former Board Member and President of Piedmont Craftsmen and has spent many years working with highly skilled artists and crafts people.  In addition to being knowledgeable about art, she has an extensive background in sales and marketing.  Lynn is the owner of Blowing Rock Gallery of Homes and Land, which will be located within the Gallery on Sunset Drive and will be managing Art & Artifacts.

Judi Russell, the owner of Art & Artifacts, founded The Russell Agency in Winston-Salem more than 30 years ago.  After selling her business, she has devoted her time exclusively to painting. In 2008 she was accepted into the Hanes Corporation Competion and her 5' x 5' canvas, "Awakening", won 2nd place and is now part of the Hanes Companies Corporate Collection.  As an instructor, she travels for Chroma, an Australian Company, promoting Chroma Interactive Paints, a new product with a patent pending.  She also conducts art workshops centered around journal art - creating with your eyes closed - to jump start the creative process.

Artists have been preselected for the opening of the Gallery.  Interested artists, wishing to exhibit during the second half of 2009, should submit samples of their work and bio to the attention of Lynn Hill via DVDs.  Please send a postage paid envelope if you wish us to return your DVD.  Work will be juried by a panel of jurors, to include Lynn Hill and Judi Russell.
